These workshops will be conducted in American Sign Language by your Deaf Bikie hosts, Chris Balduc and Mark Long. Spokane to Sandpoint Relay Race

Deaf Power Organization (DPO) is pleased to announce that The Deaf Power Runners (DPR) have been chosen to go to Spokane, Washington to the Sandpoint Relay!! We have participated in the Hood to Coast Relay for many years. Unfortunately, we were not chosen to do the Hood to Coast relay this year (limited to 1,000 team entrees). There is an alternative event that The Deaf Power Runners to can participate in which is the Spokane to Sandpoint Relay. The Relay Race begins atop picturesque Mt. Spokane and winds its way through fifteen different cities en route to the finish line at the beach in beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho. Throughout the 185 mile course runners experience over 50 miles of the World Class Centennial Trail, over 60 miles of property adjacent to waterfront, and they dash their way through two national forests. The DPR had a great time last year at this event. We would like to do it again this year!

The date at the starting line in Spokane is August 12th and the race ends at Sandpoint Beach on August 13th. It is an exciting time for us to gather this relay team of Deaf Power Runners! Please review the information online at http://www.spokanetosandpoint.com

Each runners will be responsible for paying $100.00 fee which will includes the race entry fee, gas for the van, a team t-shirt, and hotel. Captain Greg Coughlan will be working on recruiting 12 co-ed runners. We are looking for men and women runners! This is an exciting time! So let’s get in gear to practice and train!

If you are interested in joining the Deaf Power Runners team or if you have any questions, please contact Greg Coughlan gmcxrun@comcast.net

Sincerely yours,

The Running Captain
